The Original Plot of Genesis 1
Genesis 1 is the master picture. The whole setting is built before the man appears: the deep and the light, the dry land, the plants with their seed, the lights for the seasons and the creatures. Only then is the identity placed in it.
The light, the dry land and the plants are each called good before the man is there. For example:
And grass came up on the earth, and every plant producing seed of its sort, and every tree producing fruit, in which is its seed, of its sort: and God saw that it was good. — Genesis 1:12 (BBE)
The framework reads Genesis 1 as the whole way it works, written out. It has four parts:
- The ground. It has a name before anyone stands on it, and the name shows what the state is like.
- The seed. The claim planted in that ground, which gives back after its kind.
- The stand. The I AM is given a body and a place to stand on that ground.
- The time. The lights of day four mark when something is due.
The creatures fill this same scene. They are made after their kind, and the identity is then given rule over them (Genesis 1:26, in Lesson 6).
Every later story is this picture, changed. A new place is new ground. A new character is a new identity standing on it. The creatures, lights and plants that appear are the same groups as before. The court is the same, and it makes real the picture that is actually offered.
Example, Ruth 1. The ground changes from House of Bread, Praise to Of His Father. The identities standing on it are named Pleasant, Sick and Pining. The original picture has been changed into a different scene, and the court makes that scene real. Lesson 10 walks through it.
Three questions for any story:
- What is the ground, and what does its name mean?
- Who is standing on it, and what does their name mean?
- What has changed from the original picture in Genesis 1?
See the Blueprint.
Remember: every story is the Genesis 1 scene, changed. New ground, new identity, same court.
